I start off every morning with a shower and in my shower I keep the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser to wash ma face. I know some people say that you shouldn't wash your face in the shower because the water is too hot but I have never had any issue with it, maybe that's because I don't have my showers piping hot. I find that washing my face in the shower is the easiest way for a lazy girl like me to ensure that I actually clean my face in the morning, otherwise I probably wouldn't be bothered most of the time. Bad, I know. This cleanser is really nice, it leaves my skin feeling nice and clean. I would say this is basically a soft soap for your face, it doesn't make any special claims other than to just clean your skin. That's what I want it to do and it does that job well.
Once I get out of the shower and pat my skin dry, I get onto the rest of the skincare straight away. Again, because I'm lazy, if I leave the bathroom I'm likely to forget. I put the smallest amount of the Clinique Clarifying Lotion 2 onto a cotton ball and then squeeze the ball to make sure that there's only a little bit of product being used. I quickly swipe it all over my face and then leave it for roughly 5 seconds before adding a pump of the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel over the top. These are both products that I've spoken about before, they're old staples for me. I still can't tell exactly what the toner does, but I use it anyway. The moisturiser is nice and light so it sinks in really quickly and doesn't interfere with my makeup. Though it is light, it still does a good job at hydrating the skin and leaving it feeling soft.
To top my face off I add a little bit of the Yes To Cucumbers Soothing Eye Gel under my eyes. This is just a refreshing eye gel that helps to de-puff my eyes and make me look a bit more awake. I find that often when I wake up in the morning my eyes are a bit red and sore, this eye gel helps with that. It also sinks in well like the moisturiser, which is a must for morning skincare.
That's my morning skincare! Though it seems like a lot due to all the writing about it I've done but I actually complete this in about a minute and a half. Ain't nobody got time for too much skincare in the morning. So tell me, what's your morning skincare staple? I'm sure there are some gems out there that I am yet to try.
Lots of Love,
Shannon
